Follow @andrealeigh203 on Twitter"American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald and "Twilight" franchise star Nikki Reed have officially tied the knot, the couple confirms to US Weekly. The pair was wed Sunday (Oct. 16) at a private ranch in Malibu, Calif. in front of about 100 guests.
"We couldn't be happier! [We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We're so glad this day has come!" says the couple.
The couple met when the "American Idol" finalists were taken to the premiere of "Red Riding Hood." Reed approached McDonald at the premiere and gushed about how amazing he was. They started corresponding while he was on 'Idol" and then once he was booted, he moved to Los Angeles to live with her.
And McDOnald wasn't star-struck by her celebrity status, he just like the woman that she was around him.
"I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies. I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool," says Paul.
